Taking the controls in initial run of new and sleek miniature train at Playland on PNE Grounds is Walter Harrison, assistant, General Manager of Canadian Pacific Railway's Western Division.
Harrison also drove golden spike to complete the 900-foot track.
Playland executive Bob Bollinger stands beside Harrison as he pulls out with a full load of 36 children in the two coaches and observation car.
Train was painted by CPR in silver and wine colors of "The Canadian", CPR's crack cross-Canada express. Locomotive is replica of General Motors diesel.
