Skating Music Guests


Live organ and keyboard music for the Extravaganzas are provide by a variety of guest musicians. They are well-known roller rink organists from different parts of the country.

Below are brief overviews of each organist who have participated.

     House organist Nick Viscuso brings over 35 years of experience playing in roller rinks in Florida and Pennsylvania as well as in other parts of the country. He is also well known locally playing for supper and organ clubs. CD / Tape available

     Bill Clark started way back in the 50’s and has sold his recordings world-wide. He broke the mold in the 60’s and became famous with his unique bounce and shuffle style breaking rink attendance records all over Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

     Bill Fellows (New Jersey), another very experienced roller organist plays currently at 3 rinks in New Jersey, makes numerous guest appearances, and still does many of the meets in the Northeast. His schedule is a busy one due to popular demand.

     Brian McNamara played in Philadelphia area roller rinks usually as a fill in.  Currently, he plays in church and has roller skated for years.  In the past, he had filled-in for Nick Viscuso

     Carl DeSanti is currently house organist at Orbit Skate Center in Palatine, IL and relief for Frank Pellico at Aurora Skate Center (Aurora, IL). He has played at the Chicago Theatre, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, Coronado Theatre in Rockford and the Medinah Temple. Visit Kenned and Carl

     Doug Moyer (Florida) was brought up on skates, is a coach and has played since he was very little. You can hear him at Semoran Skateway in Casselberry, Florida.

     Frank Pelico a full time organist will be making a rare appearance as he breaks away from a busy playing schedule to share his super talent with us. He plays at Aurora Skate Center, has a band, and is also the well known organist for the Chicago Blackhawks.

     George Smith (Indiana) is a seasoned player of 50 plus years who is still heard by thousands on his own radio show and he owns a Hammond organ store. His classic roller style is well known in Indiana (Larry Cole of Skate Reflections) grew up to his music.

     Jack Greer is a former National Senior Dance Champion and coach. Following his retirement as VP of Program Development at Sarasota YMCA, he is able to devote full time to skating music. He will play the Regional Championships held at Fort Richey in June 2009. As a musician, Jack refers to himself as "an enthusiastic amateur" who loves every moment of playing for skaters.

     Lonnie Brooks (Pennsylvania) brings his shuffle and bouncy style of playing along with many fans to our rink every year. He plays regularly at Fantasy Skate Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.

     Shane Dalton (age 11) is the son of Bob Dalton who is on the Professional Staff of Skate Reflections.

     Shawn Muir, a truly gifted blind organist who knows just about
any song requested. You may be asked to hum a little of it.

     Steve Daniels, a local favorite and crowd pleaser also played to his many skating fans in Western Pennsylvania and Florida while currently maintaining a full schedule entertaining regularly at clubs, private parties, and special events.
